XRP: The altcoin that beats the competition with a 10% increase

On January 1, 2025, the cryptocurrency market was shaken up when the Ripple token (XRP) experienced a meteoric rise, surpassing the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. With a price that rose to $2.32, XRP topped the list of the most profitable coins in the last 24 hours, with an increase of over 10%.

XRP has come to the forefront in recent days, not only due to its surge, but also due to the positive sentiment in the cryptocurrency market for 2025. In this context, it is interesting to note that the only altcoin in the top 100 that has seen even bigger gains is Stellar (XLM). The latter, located in 18th place, traded at $0.4, representing an increase of more than 29%.

The rise in the price of XRP also contributed to the overall recovery in its weekly performance after its recent decline. XRP's market capitalization now exceeds US$132 billion and daily trading volume has increased by more than 36% to US$6.3 billion. Over the past 24 hours, XRP has ranged between $2.08 and $2.32. While XRP boasts impressive daily gains, it remains more than 14% lower over the past 30 days.

Given the prevailing bullish sentiment in the market and the expectation of a new all-time high, which is approximately 38% above the current price, XRP could have a bright future ahead. Its all-time high was reached in 2018, when the price climbed to $3.40.

Interestingly, the value of XRP has increased despite the recent transfer of 300 million XRP to Ripple's wallet, which is equivalent to over $649 million. This transfer, which was recorded by Whale Alert, is part of the monthly unblocking of the XRP escrow. It happens in the month that US President-elect Donald Trump takes office, whose pro-crypto stance is seen as one of the factors that may support the price of XRP.

Considering the current trends and positive news, it seems that XRP is on track for further development and could become a key player in the cryptocurrency market in 2025.
