Trump raises tensions: Threat of action against Colombia and Mexico, Bitcoin heads for record $93,000

US President Donald Trump has once again unleashed geopolitical uncertainty by hinting at the possibility of tougher action against Colombia and Mexico in connection with the recent operation in Venezuela. The comments have a significant impact not only on the international scene but also on financial markets, especially Bitcoin, which rose to an incredible $93,000 after his statements.

Trump’s criticism of Colombia for its cocaine trade and his statement that the new military action “sounds good” indicate that the US is determined to take tough action against these countries, which are linked to regional drug crime problems. He also warned that something needs to be done in Mexico, despite his friendlier relations with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. This geopolitical uncertainty was also reflected in the cryptocurrency market, where Bitcoin surged 3.35% after Trump's words, reaching a record high of almost $93,000.

Why Bitcoin? Financial analysts point out that in times of uncertainty, cryptocurrency is often perceived as a safe haven. Trump's comments, which increased tensions in the region, have boosted investor interest in the digital currency, which is often seen as an alternative to traditional assets.

In addition, Trump is still pursuing a strategy regarding Greenland, which he describes as key to US security policy. Although Denmark and Norway have repeatedly refused to sell this Arctic territory, the US president remains interested and indicates that Greenland is still on his list of priorities.

The situation in Venezuela, which was the subject of a military operation, also contributed to the growth of Bitcoin's value, although only by 3.35%. However, analysts point out that since Maduro was detained before major concerns could spread, the market reaction was not as pronounced as in previous crises.

The unpredictable Trump and his threats continue to increase global uncertainty, while cryptocurrencies are recording record growth. What awaits us next? The question remains whether Trump's geopolitical pressure will lead to further growth in Bitcoin or rather to new turbulence on the international stage. One thing is certain - the cryptocurrency market is now very lively, and investors should be especially cautious.
