🔍 The main topics of the week in the world.
1. Bitcoin and market conditions: consolidation after a sharp rise
Bitcoin is holding in a narrow range of 120,000 to 126,000 USD, which indicates a consolidation phase after a strong rise.
Altcoins are under less pressure — Ethereum, for example, fell by ~2–3% within 24 hours.
The market around this continues in the so-called "FOMO + greed" sentiment, when investors continue to invest capital despite concerns about overbought conditions.
2. Regulation in the US: tensions around key ETFs
The US Senate is experiencing divisions over a key law for regulating cryptocurrencies — problems with the definition of the powers of the SEC vs. CFTC.
In addition, the SEC has postponed decisions on some ETFs focused on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP to October 2025.
These delays prolong uncertainty for institutions and retail investors — any further signal could trigger significant price movements.
3. New investment instruments and products
S&P has announced the launch of the S&P Digital Markets 50 index, which combines cryptocurrencies and blockchain-related stocks.
This gives investors a way to gain exposure to digital assets through traditional investment vehicles.
A revolutionary change is coming to the UK — from 2026, it will be possible to include cryptocurrency ETNs (exchange traded notes) in tax-advantaged ISAs and pension schemes.
4. Major partnerships, acquisitions & engagements
Tether, a key player in the stablecoin space, has announced that it will nominate its own candidates for the board of directors of Juventus football club, as it owns ~10.7% of the club.
In the fintech space, Intercontinental Exchange (owner of the NYSE) is planning to invest up to $2 billion in Polymarket, a blockchain-based prediction market platform.
This is evidence that the lines between traditional finance and decentralized models are increasingly blurred.
5. Token Unlocks & Liquidity
Between October 4th and November 4th, more than $1 billion worth of tokens from locked reserves will be released into circulation — projects to watch include Aptos, ENS, ImmutableX, and LayerZero.
These unlocks can put pressure on the price (triggering sales) or open a new liquidity window for investors.
6. Technology Development: Solana Upgrade & New Stablecoins
The Solana project is working on an ambitious “Alpenglow” upgrade that is expected to reduce transaction confirmation time from ~12 seconds to ~150ms while increasing block capacity by ~25% and reducing network overhead.
This could significantly enhance Solana’s usability in DeFi, gaming, and tokenized spaces.
In parallel, SUI Group, together with the Ethena protocol, are preparing their own stablecoins suiUSDe and USDi as the first native stablecoins on the Sui network.
🧭 What to watch out for in the coming days
SEC ETF Decision: Late Approval or Rejection May Trigger a Strong Market Reaction.
Price Developments Around Unlocked Tokens: Projects with Large “Unlocks” May Face Selling Pressure.
Macroeconomic News: Interest Rates, Inflation, Dollar Movements — All Will Affect Capital Flows.
Network technical upgrades: If Solana or other projects successfully implement the new features, this could mean stronger adoption.
Regulation in other regions India follows a cautious path, EU continues to debate MiCA, Latin America, Africa - all are looking at the space for their own models.
