A week in the world of Crypto: Meme-rocket, Trump's CRO invasion, and bitcoins under pressure from whales
1. LayerBrett (LBRETT): A meme coin that promises 100× returns
A new memecoin with practical use on Layer 2 Ethereum, LayerBrett (LBRETT), has successfully launched its presale, raising over $1.4 million and offering incredible staking with a yield of over 1,500%—making it a candidate for 100x growth.
2. Litecoin on the verge of ETF euphoria
Speculation about the possible approval of an ETF for Litecoin (LTC) has once again sparked speculation about a possible price breakthrough. Analysts expect growth potential, although given the size of the market, the ROI may prove more modest.
If successful, LTC could follow BTC and ETH in institutional adoption.
3. Bitcoin rises again—but its dominance declines
Bitcoin added 1.3% and returned below $110,000; Ethereum rose only slightly (+0.1%), XRP by 0.8%, and Solana achieved a solid +5.5%. Nevertheless, Bitcoin's dominance is being undermined by altcoins, which are gaining investor attention.
4. Whale sold 24,000 BTC – rally ends
After a weekend surge, Bitcoin fell from $117,411 to $111,178 after one whale shocked the market by selling 24,000 BTC. The decline was so sharp that it spread to altcoins, but Ethereum still managed to record +21% growth in August.
Lesson of the week: Pressure from large sellers significantly affects market sentiment and price levels.
5. Trump's crypto invasion continues: CRO token flourishes
Trump Media Group has teamed up with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition to form "Trump Media Group CRO Strategy," with plans to hold $1 billion in CRO tokens, hundreds of millions of dollars in funding, and a $5 billion credit line. Projects include integrating CRO into the Truth Social platform, developing a wallet, and preparing an ETF. The result was a sharp +115% increase in CRO.
6. Texas citizens want their rights: against a bitcoin mine
The community in Granbury, Texas, is pushing for the creation of the municipality of Mitchell Bend so that it can regulate noise from the nearby bitcoin mine owned by MARA Holdings. Even after the installation of noise barriers, residents complain about 24/7 hum and dirt affecting their quality of life. A referendum will be held in November.
Why it matters: This event has not received much mainstream attention, but it highlights the conflict between technology and its impact on everyday life.
We reported on this in our blog this week. (links to articles )
